WAYYY Overdue: Bio Beauty Eyebrow Embroidery

In January, I made an appointment with Bio-Beauty to get my eyebrows in shape. My regular bows were not good as there were somewhat droopy. Appointment was set in late Jan, so I was unable to go back in time for a 'touch-up'before the Chinese New Year.

But, overview story first. I had the normal eyebrow embroidery done at Bishan's #1 salon by Amy last year. I had to wait 4 months to get her appointment. And, when I finally did, I was disappointed because:
  1. It was my first time doing eyebrow embroidery, but she did not explain anything (She just drew the shape according to her likes and "confirm it with you"by rejecting any of your requests to change)
  2. Then she put the numbing cream for me on my brows. But before the cream can work its magic, she started the embroidery process. It wasn't that painful because she was using an electric 'filler' and her strokes were fast but it just felt to me that she couldn't wait to finish up.
  3. When she did your eyebrows, she was all talk (LOUD talk with LOADS of action) to her colleagues around her. What I found most unprofessional was that she was complaining about a previous customer to all her colleagues when the new customers are lying there on the beauty beds.
So, I waited 4 months just to finish my brows in less than 20mins and I told myself - after finishing the free touch-up, I will not go back again!

So this year, I decided to go look for other embroidery shops in Singapore and the list is long... Allure, Erabelle, Browhaus and somewhere hidden within it all, Bio-Beauty. I went to all their website to check the prices and the different types of embroidery services provided. I wanted to make sure I did my research right so that the "#1 situation" will not happen again. I even went on beauty sites and forums to confirm their reviews. And finally! I've decided on the one that had just about enough positive reviews that could also save my wallet from combustion - Bio-Beauty.
Edited & Extracted from http://www.biobeauty.com.sg/eyebrow/
I got the above pricing chart from their website. You see many different prices and might be confused. Even when I'm at the salon, I had a hard time understanding when looking at the pictures. So I've included the explanation in the purple arrows for easy understanding. And once I've decided on what I want to do, the beautician was all ready for me.

I chose the Nano 3D Korean Eyebrow colouring and Jocelyn was there ready to draw my brows. She was very patient and each time she drew, she made it a point to explain why it has to be higher/ lower and which point has to be thicker or thinner. All the drawing and consultations took almost 30mins.

And after the explanations, it's time for the numbing cream! Jocelyn made sure to let it set for at least 15mins before starting on my left brow. The embroidery process took about 15-20mins. And it took approximately another minutes or the colour to set in and I was done. The entire process took almost an hour.
After (left) and Before (right)
Can see the difference and how much it helps to light up my facial expressions right? My mum saw the difference and she couldn't resist. She ended up signing for the  same 'package' and did her eyebrow embroidery there too! HAHAHAHA!
Last but not least, a photo with the lady whose hands and skills made it happen.
Love the experience and the way things work at Bio-Beauty. Will definitely recommend my friends to go there. And, if you really did your research - like me - you will know that their price is definitely worth the try! Going to schedule my "touch up" sometime in March and will keep you guys updated!

ITACHOOOOO

I always go crazy for sushi. Especially when it involves Salmon. And ITACHO is one of the best Sushi places I've been to in Singapore. The fish are always fresh and with the right bunch of friends, it always feel like sushi fest.

Start off with warm Chawanmushi
SALMON SASHIMI
Don't even try asking me what's what. They're all salmon and all in my stomach. HAHAHAHA.

I had trouble biting the seaweed because of the braces (gaps and all) but boy was this delicious!
Scallops anyone?
Always going crazy with the sushi at ITACHO. I bet you're hungry now. HAHAHA. Gonna let it digest and go to bed. Nights!

Rule of Thumb...

Essentially, it is an approximate principle or rough procedure. However, it is not the case for the (currently) one and only "Rule of Thumb Sanctuary Spa" in Singapore.

I was looking for a cheap and good (and clean) spa in Singapore and I chanced upon peregrinatewithme's blog. Was really tempted to try all of them but I wasn't sure which to start with. And somehow, I can't remember how but I got to the WELLNESSLY website and I noticed a "1-for-1" redemption voucher like below.
I couldn't resist so I immediately signed up with WELLNESSLY and got my 1-for-1 voucher. Remember to key in your email address correctly because the redemption code will be sent to your emails like below:
So in the email, you will see the Redemption Code as well as Expiry Date. As my voucher's expiry is in April, I was surprised when I received a reminder email from WELLNESSLY to make an appointment. Do note that it is valid for the first 1000 redemptions and strictly by appointment so I booked my appointment for me and my friends for yesterday and I did mention, I had the 1-for-1 redemption code. You'll just have to let them know the code(s) and you're done with the booking.

Like I mentioned earlier, the 1-for-1 is only valid for the 1st 1000 redemptions so if you're keen on trying it out, do try your luck and register with WELLNESSLY first before making your appointment.

Okay. So I went for the Relaxation (Basic Oil) massage and I told my masseuse (P.s. Her name is Amy) that I wanted more focus on my neck and back. You know what people say about not judging a book by its cover? Well, you should never judge a masseuse by their size. Amy is petite like me but boy is she strong. I'm pretty good with pain so, trust me when I say she has her strength. It is my first time doing oil massage so I was unaware of what I should or should not do and I asked a fair bit of questions before beginning and Amy was patient enough to answer my queries. Once she started the massage, she's in all serious mode and no talk - not unless it has involves pressure on my back. I recall her first comment was how 'hard and tight' my shoulders and back are. She even asked if I was too stressed out or if I am just working with a bad position. HAHA. Nice lady, really. And she is good..! I mean, I could feel all the knots kneaded away bit by bit. If not for my friend and her masseuse next to me talking away, I swear I would have fallen asleep in her hands (P.s, my friend and I were sharing a big room - of course there were curtains for each individual bed). After the massage, I stayed for a while before dressing up and heading down for a hot cup of tea. The service at Rule of Thumb is really good and the staff were all friendly. Grace - whom I believe is the manager of the store - requested to take a photo of us and we did. It's the first photo of this post with the signature "THUMBS UP"! Kudos to Rule o Thumb for the great service. You've got yourself a returning customer here! HAHAHA.

Anyhow, you know how massage always helps you 'loosen' the tight muscles and you usually feel a little sore, albeit loose after the massage? This time round, similar to my previous Thai Massage experiences, there was a bit of soreness. Well, I knew it would happen due to the work done on the muscles. But what I didn't expect was my sinus acting up to the extend that I cant sleep. My nose was blocked so tight that I woke up in the middle of the night to take a flu pill before going back to lalaland.

This morning, when I woke, I was confused. I wasn't sure if it is 'time' for me to fall sick or if it's the massage. So, not knowing my answer, I turned to everyone's 'bestfriend' (aka GOOGLE) for answers. And I found out it's part of the "Healing Response". You can read up more here from Cascade Massage Therapy but I screenshot the main points below:

So, a cold is actually part of the healing process. And, I'm actually not allowed to eat any meds because it is the body detoxifying. Now, how am I supposed to know that? I've had massages before - mostly Thai Massage - and I never experienced a cold after the massage. Did you know that you might experience cold-like symptoms after a good massage? Have you had a cold after massage before? And, how long did it last?
Oh well, what's done is done. But I mean, logically, since I can't sleep because of a blocked nose, the only response is to clear it... HAHAHA. Nevermind. I just need to make sure I drink loads of water and detox, and pray tonight be smooth sailing. HAHA.
